Community Building
Community Building focuses on fostering a connected and purpose-driven community of faculty, students, and partners. By strengthening relationships and promoting active engagement, the Water Institute cultivates a collaborative culture and shared identity. As a cross-cutting effort, it enhances other mission areas by reinforcing our ties, support, and relevance to stakeholders and the broader community.
Objectives
Build sustained engagement among affiliate faculty and students in Water Institute programs and initiatives.
Incentivize Water Institute affiliate faculty to serve as advocates in external events and initiatives.
Increase affiliate faculty support for Water Institute initiatives through active service roles and indirect cost (IDC) return.
What We’re Doing
Developing innovative, interdisciplinary knowledge and solutions for complex water challenges through intentional, cross departmental collaboration.
Building a vibrant, interdisciplinary student community through research collaborations, professional development, recognition of excellence, and leadership opportunities.
