About the Water Institute

The Water Institute was established in 2006 under the Office of Research as a focal point of water-related research, education, and outreach. Florida, with its growing population and vulnerable water resources, represents a unique laboratory to advance our understanding and test solutions. With a focus on terrestrial water systems and their interactions with human, coastal, and atmospheric processes, the Water Institute fosters a vibrant community of faculty, staff, students, and partners. Together we work to advance our understanding of complex water challenges and develop solutions in Florida and beyond.
